About the Hall Family

John and Marjorie Hall had progressive social values that set them apart from many in western Nebraska.

As children from the Depression, John and Marjorie were unable to finish college. Their daughter Katherine graduated from UNL with a degree in Journalism in 1971.  She later earned a Ph.D. from the University of Washington and retired as a journal editor with the UW School of Public Health.

Katherine established this endowment to honor her parents and to further social justice in Nebraska.
